AdaptCMS Beta 3 - May 7th
Posted By: adminOn: May 24, 2013 - 10:04 pm
In preparation for the big and long-coming release of AdaptCMS 3.0, a majority of recent work has been bug testing. We've cranked out a lot of bug fixes on the Templates and Users features especially. Although it was working, the forgot password/reset password/activate password functionalities were redone as they were originally made to be as small amount of code as possible - as I know now, that isn't necessarily always good.
Work on a new plugin also started and concluded, check inside for the details as well as a scoop at a possible new project.
AdaptCMS Beta 3 - April 20th
Posted By: adminOn: May 24, 2013 - 10:00 pm
It's been a while since the last blog, since the last one AdaptCMS Beta 2 has released and work has started already on AdaptCMS Beta 3. While there will be some new features, largely it will be bug testing and browser testing.
Before Beta 3 releases, the new InsaneVisions website will launch. We have the content ported over, users (but you must reset your pw) and a new design. Right now we just need to setup the redirects for search engines and then we will be moving everything over to the new server (including adaptcms.com), this is a process so we are going about it carefully. I expect by the end of this month that everything will be moved over and the new site will be up, can't wait!
Read on to learn about some of the new and upcoming stuff for AdaptCMS Beta 3.
AdaptCMS Limited Beta 2 - Released
Posted By: adminOn: April 04, 2013 - 11:10 pm
A little less than two months after the first public release of the new AdaptCMS 3.x line, Beta 2 is now available in a limited release. The new version brings the first base version of AdaptBB and many plugin additions altogether. (asset management, permissions, settings and more) Much of the work also was refactoring code - this lead to improvement in code overall and numerous bugs as well as fixing a few area where stability was a concern. A wordpress converter was also created, which could see the creation of similar conversion tools.
This release is limited again because there is still much left and our first full blown public release will be 3.0. Before now and then, there will be one more Beta - this will knock out any bugs we find, any browser compatibility issues and likely will involve some cooler things. (possibly a few more plugins, possible LESS integration)
Once Beta 3 is decently under way, we will likely then look at what all will be done with it and what will be done with 3.0 before release. Once the sites that will launch are done behind the scenes, we should have a good idea of a time period when it will release and will post here.
Included are instructions on how to install this version. We just ask to report any issues (or suggestions) and that if you start to use this release for a public site - you can upgrade, this started with the first beta - but we recommend waiting for 3.0 to fully release as we have not done a sweep for security issues/bugs.
AdaptCMS Beta 2 - March 4th Update
Posted By: adminOn: March 04, 2013 - 11:10 pm
With the limited release of AdaptCMS Beta the not so exciting stage of development has started and is continuing. This stage consists almost entirely of refactoring code, browser testing and overall beta testing. Work has also started on an AdaptBB Plugin. This will be a fairly small version but will receive many updates in the future.
This is going to be a short post because all the work that has been done, or most of it, is nothing that is flashy or can be shown off. The biggest feature done was probably the Wordpress Converter and the expanded functionality of plugins. Plugins now have settings and configuration options.
The only other thing of note is that we are looking at another limited public release beta of Beta 2 to come out, likely, by the end of April. This will leave just one more version to go until the full release of AdaptCMS 3.0. Stay tuned for a blog in the coming weeks on the AdaptBB plugin.
AdaptCMS Limited Beta - Released
Posted By: adminOn: February 15, 2013 - 11:14 pm
The first public release of the 3.x line of AdaptCMS has been officially released. It is a limited release, which means while it is availble to the public, we are largely not promoting it. This is because we recommend users that download this, to at least have minor PHP knowledge - but it is a fairly stable version.
Included are instructions on how to install this version. In the admin panel, after installation, users will also find a bug report tool due to this release being a beta. Outside of that, have fun. We just ask to report any issues (or suggestions) and that if you start to use this release for a public site - starting with this version, future versions will be upgradeable so while we reccommend waiting until the 3.0 Final release, webmasters can start early now.
